Of Bangles & such..

A couple of weeks back, my friend brought me these 2 bangles that her colleague bought from India. Her colleague found it too plain & asked me to do 'something-about-it'
I don't know her colleague personally, don't know what's her dressing like, her sense of style, etc...
*scratches head*
After some consideration, I came up with this - a charm-bangle; round rose quartz bead + 925 silver topper on one bangle & silver butterflies on the 2nd bangle.
Can be worn together or seperately..hehe

Hopes she likes it; I find it a really interesting to have a charm bangle instead of a bracelet & the pink stone & butterfly really makes it such a pretty piece.
I'm thinking maybe I should do one for myself too..hehe...

MEL

My buddy from work was leaving & this was her farewell present; a one-off charm bracelet+earring set. Never to be re-made!

None of us knew what to get her; and I reckon, getting her baby stuff wasn't exactly a gift for her! So I made her this set.

Hope she liked it & will always think of us & the crazy times we had together!

Pearls, pearls & more pearls

I custom-made this necklace + bracelet set for a friend who bought a strand of white + black pearls & didn't like the way it came in.
Her only request was to have it re-stranded so that it doesn't resemble a boring strand of pearls!
I took apart the pearls & added some 4mm bicone swarozski crystals to 'modernise' it.

I was quite pleased to be able to make a bracelet as well with the remains of the bracelet..hehe!!
Ah...if only she agreed to matching earrings..but alas, she thinks thats gonna be a bit too much pearls!! :P

The red Sea-urchin

I call this the sea-urchin chocker because doesn't the pendant resembles a sea-urchin?

The pendant is made out of red coral chip stones with blue turqoise beads with 925 silver chain.

This piece is customised for a dear friend who had months ago requested me to make her a choker, which I then took ages to complete...

Finally it was delivered to her today!!! Hope she enjoys wearing it as much as I enjoyed making it! :)

One in a million

Today I decided that it's time to do a post on some of the one-off pieces that I've made for family/friends & of course, myself.

Over the years, these loyal fans & very much appreciated critics have been coming to me for their custom made bracelets/earrings/necklaces. It's always been a fun albeit sometimes stressful endeavour because they describe to me what they want & I'm to visualise & create it to their description. I'm glad that most of the time, I get it right. Although at the initial stages, my sizing of their wrist were totally out!! :P

I made 3 of these super sweet flower bracelets for WL, YL & myself (of course); all 3 are slightly different - I still do not believe in mass producing :)

This lemon-drop candy like bracelet was requested by AL. All she wanted was a bracelet made of the transparent yellow chip stones, but I decided to match them with these lemon-drop like natural stones to make it more interesting.

This was made as a birthday present to AL this year. She claims that she's not really a 'heart' person as she says it doesn't suit her personality, but matching it with some pill shaped wooden beads, I think, has sort of 'neutralise' the sweetness of so many heart shaped stones, don't you think? hehe

There are more of these one off pieces, but thats another post for another day :)
